Course Includes:
All materials, Test application Fees and Lunch for each day. We are an approved testing site for NICT so everything can be completed at our facility. Brazing inspection test (coupon) that is sent off is also included.
Course Details:
The ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installer course teaches students how to install and maintain medical gas and vacuum systems. The course covers a variety of topics, including:
• Medical gas equipment: How medical gas equipment is used in medical facilities
• NFPA requirements: The rules of NFPA 99, NFPA 55, and the ASSE 6000 Series
• Installation practices: How to install medical gases
• Safety: How to work safely around medical gas systems
• Brazing: How to properly braze medical gas piping
• Testing: How to test systems that deliver oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen
• Documentation: How to document and record
To become an ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installer, students must complete the following:
• Training: Complete a minimum of 32 hours of training, which includes oral, written, and practical instruction
• Written exam: Pass a written exam that covers material from the ASSE 6010 and NFPA 99
• Practical brazing exam: Pass a practical brazing exam
• Experience: Have at least four years of documented practical experience installing plumbing or mechanical piping systems
After becoming certified, installers must renew their license every three years by taking a course and exam. They must also submit a brazing continuity form every six months to verify that they are still performing the brazing procedure.
